Mainframe software engineer - Post-Trade Program

BEC is a financial technology company building IT solutions for Danish banks, with teams in Denmark and Poland. The role sits in the Post-Trade Program, working on a newly established Post Trade Harmonization Initiative that aims to meet post-trade harmonization requirements and compliance needs for member banks. The work involves capturing requirements with business analysts and customers, analyzing existing solutions and documenting gaps, and developing maintainable solutions combining COBOL and Java. The team is split between Denmark and Poland and works in an Agile setup, coordinating with Product Owners, QA and a team architect.

• Strong mainframe development experience across the IBM z/OS stack: COBOL, CICS, IDz, MQ, DB2, JCL, plus Git/Bitbucket, Jira and ServiceNow. Solid software engineering fundamentals, code review experience, analytical problem-solving, familiarity with functional and non-functional requirements documentation, and fluent English. Nice to have: experience with BEC mainframe tools (e.g. PUMA), leadership and mentoring experience, and financial sector background in trading or post-trade and settlement.
